CSE 2025

Message from the Organizing Committee:

On behalf of the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES), we are thrilled to welcome you to the National Conference on Sustainability in Engineering (CSE) 2025, hosted at the University of Guelph! Our Organizing Committee, the School of Engineering, and the entire Guelph community are incredibly excited to host this impactful event, bringing together passionate engineering students, industry leaders, and academics from across Canada to engage in meaningful conversation surrounding sustainability.

This year, our theme for the conference, “The Impactful Engineer”, reflects our mission to empower delegates with the knowledge, tools, and motivation to create real change in their communities. Over four inspiring days, participants will explore sub themes such as Reimagining Sustainability, Building the Foundations for a Brighter Future, and Act Today for Tomorrow. Through hands-on workshops, inspiring sessions, and a case competition, delegates will gain practical skills and innovative perspectives that they can bring back to their local communities to champion grassroots sustainability movements.

As we welcome 200 delegates from 53 academic institutions across Canada, we are reminded of the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change. At CSE 2025, we aim to go beyond discussing broad sustainability goals and focus on actionable solutions that delegates can implement locally. Whether it’s initiating campus programs, advocating for policy changes, or leading projects in their hometowns, we want participants to leave this conference inspired, equipped, and ready to make a difference. By fostering connections and sharing ideas, we hope to create a ripple effect on sustainability-focused innovation that extends far beyond this event.
